We are pleased to confirm Network UK Dating is now part of Facebook and Twitter. We hope this will help us bring even more online dating advice to our current members and help share our content. Whilst we were setting up these pages it got us thinking about the impact of social networking sites on online dating.
In general I think it would be fair to say that most people of a certain age in the UK would have access to a facebook or Twitter account. So with that in mind it’s probably fair to say that there are a few million singles out there looking for love that use social networking sites. While our own online dating sites are in essence social networking sites they are different from the likes of Facebook. Could a more lifestyle sharing approach, i.e. pictures, friends updates work for an online dating site or would that detract from one of the key points of online dating, the fact that you can take things slowly and share what you want about yourself at your own pace. Certainly something to think about in the future.
